There will be classes for the 2015 Florida School. You select ONE and spend the entire week in their class, receiving hands-on instruction and plenty of opportunity for questions and answers.

Classes are held on the campus of Daytona State College in Daytona Beach. The host hotel is the Daytona Beach Resort (yes, it's on the beach).

Be a Model or Volunteer on a Committee

The Florida School doesn't happen all by itself - it needs YOUR help! You can help by volunteering to chair or work on a committee. Doing so will earn you service merits towards your FSA (Florida Service Award). It will also help you get to know the other school attendees better, opening the door for a wider network of friends who share the same goals and challenges as yourself.

If you are bringing your spouse and/or children along to enjoy the sun and surf while you're at class, you might consider having them join you at the school one day and modeling for our instructors doing lighting and posing demos.

2015 Florida School of Photography June 7-10, 2015

The Format…
It’s this simple. The Florida School takes place once a year for four days (Sunday, June 7 – Wednesday, June 10, 2015). You sign up for one class by one instructor. For four days in June you’ll be treated to an intense learning opportunity being taught by one of the industry’s most knowledgeable photographers. Not only do you gain the information necessary to become a better photographer, you gain a whole new circle of friends who share the same aspirations and goals as yourself. This is what makes the Florida School so special.

Orientation will take place at the Daytona State College campus, Photography Bldg #530. Please join us for our opening ceremonies and registration; featuring some light refreshments, brief announcements and information for the week.


                                    Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the School Director at Marybeth@marybethphoto.com.
If cancelled between these dates, the following cancellation fees will apply.
Sep 1 - Dec 31 - $30
Jan 1 - Mar 31 - $100
Apr 1 - Apr 15 - $200
Apr 16 - May 15 - $300
May 16 - on - No Refunds

UNLESS YOU'RE ON THE INSTALLMENT PLAN, TUITION MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY MAY 15, 2015

Hotel Accommodations….
You are responsible for making your own hotel arrangements. Our  host hotel is The Daytona Beach Resort at 2700 North Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach. Please mention the FPP for the special room rate of $97.00 plus tax per night. Reservation cutoff is Friday,May 22, 2015, at 5:30pm. Their direct phone number is 386-672-37706 or 800-654-6216. PPA/FPP Merits…
Attendees who are PPA members in good standing will receive two PPA Educational Merits upon completion of a four day class. FPP Members will receive three FED points for the four day class, which is good towards their FED degree. Attendance for each day is mandatory to receive FED points and/or PPA merits.

Cars & Car Pooling…
Public transportation to the school is not available. Florida students with automobiles: we have several out-of-state students; please make sure to meet them and offer them rides to the school and back to the hotel each day.

Class Attendance…
Your paid registration is for the class that you registered for. Registrations are not transferable. If you have extenuating circumstances concerning a course change during the school week, please speak directly with the School Manager Marybeth Hamberger. If you need to leave mid-week for any reason, please inform Marybeth.

Lunch…
Lunch is from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. You’re welcome to use the DSC cafeteria if you’d like. Fortunately, DSC is located only minutes from several very good and very fast restaurants on International Speedway Dr… Please be prompt so that classes can begin again at 1:00 PM.

Dinner Tickets…
Each student (with the exception of DSC students) receives one dinner ticket for each dinner provided (Sunday and Tuesday). You must present your ticket to dine. Extra tickets may be purchased at the registration desk Sunday only, by 12:00 PM.

Video Taping Your Classes...
Sorry, but no video taping of any instruction is allowed at the Florida School.

Location Etiquette…
Please display your best behavior on the DSC campus or at any off-campus location. DSC is a smoke free environment. Please walk on the paths provided. We are guests and we hope to be invited back. No food or open drinks are allowed in the classrooms.

Dress Code…
Casual dress is the norm. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for cooler classrooms.

Models…
Our models are volunteers. They may ask you to send them digital files, as this is their only compensation. Please follow through if you promise images!

School Evaluation…
Each student will have an opportunity to fill out a school and class evaluation. Let us know your thoughts, both positive and negative. We are always seeking to improve The Florida School experience.

Florida School Memorabilia…
The Florida School typically has available for purchase several items sporting The Florida School or FPP logo. These items will be sold at the registration desk during Sunday registration.
