About Florida Professional Photographers
Florida Professional Photographers, Inc. is a non-profit association that has been in existence since May 3, 1933. For over 70 years, our goal has been to provide top quality educational opportunities, vital networking and positive public awareness regarding the photographic industry.
Since 1933, FPP has adhered to a strict code of ethics.
Our members are expected to honor this by holding their
involvement in the profession of photography to the
highest standards. We believe that you will find this to
be a powerful asset.
Whether you are a photographer interested in membership
in our association, or you are an individual looking for a
quality photographer, we know that you will be highly
impressed and satisfied with the fine level of
professionalism with the Florida Professional
Photographers!
Member Benefits
Our Mission: Florida Professional Photographers, Inc. exists solely for the good of its members. The association provides the tools and educational opportunities for its members to achieve their business and artistic goals. It is committed to an ongoing exchange of information and experiences among all members in an open and friendly atmosphere.
The Top Ten Reasons 'Why you need to join our family'
10.Business Development
Networking lies at the core of most successful small businesses. Even though our membership encompasses all levels of skill and income within the industry, it is normal for our most experienced member to spend time with the least experienced to raise his or her level of professionalism within our industry.
9.Print Education/Competition
Our renowned photographic competition enables our members to fine tune their skills. We utilize the skills of well known judges from around the country who are tough, but fair. Members have the opportunity to earn prestigious degrees.
8.Degrees
Members have the opportunity to earn a variety of photographic degrees for service, education, and award-winning prints. These degrees are highly recognized in the photographic community.
7.Education
Our Annual Convention, Florida School, and Seminars are designed to keep members’ knowledge current with advances in the industry. Photoshop, Lighting, Marketing, and Digital Workflow are just a few of the programs that FPP has offered. We also offer a Mentor Program and Technical Advisors.
6.Friendship
In an increasingly complex world, FPP provides one of the most basic of human needs: the need for friendship and fellowship. We hear countless stories of members forming long-time friendships and being there for one another.
5.Prestige
FPP members are prominent people – leaders within their communities serving on church boards, education boards, city councils. FPP is the most prestigious photography organization in this state, recognized throughout the country as a prominent association with outstanding photographers.
4.Publications
Members receive our magazine, Florida Photographer. This quarterly publication has consistently received national competition awards, often placing first.
3.Scholarships
Many different types of scholarships are available to our members. Most of these are awarded for service, and they are used at our Florida School and our Annual Conventions.
2.Trade Show
The FPP Trade Show, one of the largest in the Southeast, is filled with firms exhibiting all kinds of photographic products. Interested Exhibitors may contact the Trade Show Manager by clicking on the Trade Show link in the menu to the left.

Fall Seminar:
Our next seminar is Monday, Oct. 20th. The Sarasota Hotel & Marina
Program: Bert and Cindy Behnke
“Lifestyles”…
A day with
Bert and Cindy
Behnke
How do you live your life? Is it the way you dreamed it would be? Is it the way you WANT it to be? Join us on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 9 AM to 5 Pm at the Sarasota Hotel and Marina and prepare to be motivated, excited, surprised and enlightened! Bert and Cindy’s philosophy is all about creating your lifestyle, then designing your business around it. Whatever you may think now, you will start to question everything; instead of asking “WHY?” you’ll believe “WHY NOT!”
Bert and Cindy have always been heavily involved in their profession and they took the path of leadership. However, since the profession had gone through so many changes, they decided that it was time to share their decades of experience with their peers. This was really the result of Bert and Hanson Fong going to the Philippines to lecture. While there, they both came to the realization that photographers are crying out for the everyday solutions to their business challenges. Upon returning home, Bert and Cindy developed the program they’ve always wanted to give.
Don’t miss this full day of almost everything today’s photographer needs to run his or her business and life. Come prepared for marketing ideas, photographic sessions, money-making ideas, equipment discussions, studio set-up demonstrations, audio/visual shows, production and retouching demos, do-it-yourself projects, and who knows- maybe even some dancing! This day will be an examination of how living your life the way you want can make your personal life and your business the way you want them to be- your “Lifestyle.”
Bert Behnke, CPP, M. Photog.CR., Hon. M.Photog., is a second generation portrait photographer raised in the southwestern Chicago suburbs. Cindy Behnke, M.Photog.CR., is a portrait photographer from southern Illinois. Together they own and operate Behnke Fine Portraiture, which was established in 1956 by Bert’s parents. Bert and Cindy are both past presidents of the 500+ member Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois and Bert was the 1997-98 president of PPA. Cindy currently serves as a PPA Councilor and a past director of PPA Charities. They both have been given honors and awards too numerous to list here. Together and individually, Bert and Cindy have given programs on portraiture to many state, local, national and international associations. Both are PPA Affiliated Judges and are also Honorary Fellows of APP Illinois.
