Sections are independent of FPP, having their own governing bodies and dues. However, FPP and the Sections work closely together to ensure high-quality educational programs and professionalism.

FPP's Board of Directors plans and directs the course of the association. The Board works together with many other volunteers to produce the educational opportunities and events that help our members grow in the craft.

Florida Professional Photographers, Inc. is a non-profit association that has been in existence since 1933. For over 70 years, our goal has been to provide top quality educational opportunities, vital networking and positive public awareness regarding the photographic industry.
Since 1933, FPP has adhered to a strict code of ethics.

involvement in the profession of photography to the

Active $135
Legal age; Florida resident; employed in Florida; majority of income from photography. Submit Sales Tax Number. Entitled to all activities and benefits of FPP.
Apprentice $120
Florida resident; employed in Florida, but not deriving majority of income from professional photography; intent to persue professional photography as a full-time occupation. Limited to three years. No FPP voting rights or holding office; may not use the FPP name, seal or logo in conducting the practice of photography; entitled to all other FPP activities and benefits.
Associate $120
Florida resident; employed in Florida, employed by corporations, partnerships or individuals engaged in the photography profession. No FPP voting rights or holding office; entitled to all other FPP activities and benefits.
Student $60
Full-time at a recognized photographic school (provide Student ID); Florida resident; No FPP voting rights or holding office; may not use the FPP name, seal or logo in conducting the practice of photography; entitled to all other FPP activities and benefits.
Support Staff $50
Employee of an Active Member; may attend FPP functions. May not vote, hold office, earn merits,enter photographic competition, use the FPP name, seal or logo.
Service Individual $130
Offers service (i.e. retoucher, colorist) to professional photographers. No FPP voting rights or holding office; entitled to all other FPP activities and benefits.
Service Corporation $130
Offers services or sales (labs, suppliers, manufacturers, etc.) to professional photographers. No FPP voting rights or holding office; entitled to all other FPP activities and benefits.
Out-Of-State $100
Professional photographer employed outside of Florida. May participate in FPP functions; may earn merits; may participate in Photographic Competition, but not eligible to win awards. No FPP voting rights or holding office.
Out-Of-Country $140
Same as Out-Of-State, with additional fee for Air Mail postage.
Bahamian Active $140
Professional photographer residing and employed in the Bahamas. No FPP voting rights or holding office; entitled to all other FPP benefits. CELEBRATE LIFE!

Rules For Florida Degree Programs
Florida Education Degree
This degree is designed to encourage members to achieve a high level of professionalism through continuing education. A member must earn 35 "points" to be eligible for this degree. Points are awarded automatically, unless otherwise stated. Points may be earned by attending the following:
: FPP Convention - 2 Points (2-day minimum attendance)
: Florida School - 3 Points (5-day classes); 2 Points (2 or 3-day classes)
: FPP FAll or Winter Seminar - 1 Point
: Day spent with an FPP approved Mentor - 1 Point
: PPA Convention - 1 Points (Member must provide verification to the Executive Office.)
: SEPPA Convention - 1 Point (Member must provide verification to the Executive Office.)
: PPA PEC - 1 Point
Florida Degree Of Photographic Excellence
A member must earn 30 merits to be eligible. A minimum of 16 of these must be Print
merits; the remaining 14 merits may be earned with other Print, Service or *Membership
merits. A Print merit is earned by receiving a score of 80 or above in the FPP Annual
Photographic Competition. An additional merit will be awarded for a print receiving a
first place award. No more than 10 prints merits may be earned in the same year.
Florida Degree Of Artistic Excellence
(Retouchers/Colorists/Technicians)
A member must earn 30 merits to be eligible. A minimum of 16 of these must be
specialty Print merits; the remaining 14 merits may be earned with other Print, Service
or *Membership merits. A specialty Print merit is earned by receiving a score of 80 or
above in the FPP Annual Photographic Competition. These prints are judged solely for
the quality of workmanship on the print. An additional merit will be awarded for a print
receiving a first place award. No more than 10 prints merits may be earned in the same
year.
Florida Degree Of Artistic Excellence
A member must earn 30 merits to be eligible. A minimum of 16 of these must be Service
merits; the remaining 14 merits may be earned with other Service or *Membership merits.
Print merits may NOT be used. Service merits may be earned in the following ways (upon
completion of service):
: Six Merits: President of the FPP
: Five Merits: Annual FPP Convention Chairman
: Four Merits: FPP VP, Secretary/Treasurer and Board of Director; FPP Magazine Editor; Florida School
Director; FPP Competition Manager, Annual Trade Show Manager
: Three Merits: Section President; Convention Speaker Support Chairman; Convention Committee
Chairman; Florida School Assistant Director; Fall/Winter Seminar Chairman; Florida School Instructor
: Two Merits: FPP Platform Speaker; FPP Salon Judge; Committee Chairman; 4th-year Salon committee
worker; Section Newsletter Editor; Section Delegate; Section Webmaster (up to 2); "Let's Make Money"
Editor; **Illustrated article published in a recognized photographic publication (minimum 250 words - limit
of 4 merits per year for articles); Florida School Webmaster
: One Merit: Committee worker (limit 1 per convention); **Speaker at a Section meeting (limit 1 time per year
at your own); **Judge at a Section meeting (limit 1 per section per year; no merits for judging at your own);
**Speaker at an FPP accredited photographic school; **Article published in a recognized photographic
publication (minimum 250 words - limit 4 merits per year); Volunteer instructor for Mentor Program;
Section Officer (total of 4 people per Section); Councilor attending PPA National Council meetings
* Membership Merits: One-half a merit for each year of FPP membership
** A Merit Request Form must be completed in order to receive these merits. You may download them HERE, or by contacting the Executive Office. All other merits will be issued automatically, some pending written reports from committee chairmen or Section presidents.
Upon accumulation of the appropriate number of merits or points needed for a degree, a member will be so advised and provided with an application, which must subsequently be approved by the Board of Directors. Deadline for degree application is 8 weeks prior to annual convention. Recipient will receive a certificate and medal at the awards banquet at the annual convention.
